چکیده

The magnetic properties of uncoated, epitaxial Tb(0001) films on W(110) substrates are studied using electron capture spectroscopy. The topmost layer orders ferromagnetically below a surface Curie temperature Tc. = 249.96 f 0.02 K, which lies above the bulk Curie and NCI temperatures Tcb=220 K and TNb = 228 K. Near Tcs, novel critical behavior is observed, suggesting the existence of strong surface anisotropies.

Ferrimagnetic Tb–Fe Alloy Thin Films: Composition and Thickness Dependence of Magnetic Properties and All-Optical Switching

Ferrimagnetic rare earth – transition metal Tb–Fe alloy thin films exhibit a variety of different magnetic properties, which depend strongly on composition and temperature. In this study, first the influence of the film thickness (5–85 nm) on the sample magnetic properties was investigated in a wide composition range between 15 and 38 at.% of Tb. From our results, we find that the compensation ...

Boundary magnetization properties of epitaxial Cr2−xAlxO3 thin films

Boundary magnetization properties of epitaxial Cr2−xAlxO3 thin films" The magnetoelectric antiferromagnet α-Cr 2 O 3 (chromia) is known to possess a roughness insensitive net equilibrium magnetization at the (0001) surface, called boundary magnetization (BM), which is coupled to the bulk antiferromagnetic order parameter. In order to verify whether this symmetry sensitive BM persists in alloys,...

Anomalous magnetic thermodynamics in uncompensated collinear antiferromagnets

Monte Carlo simulations show that the net magnetization of collinear antiferromagnets (AFM) with uncompensated surfaces exhibits a unique thermodynamic behavior, with a temperature dependence unlike that of ferromagnets or of the Néel vector. The magnetization of AFM is not equal to that of its surface, even though it results from surface effects. This phenomenon appears in thin AFM films but i...

On the Buckling the Behavior of a Multiphase Smart Plate based on a Higher-order Theory

Magneto-electro-elastic materials are multiphase smart materials that exhibit coupling among electrical, magnetic and mechanical energy fields. Due to this ability, they have been the topic of numerous research in the past decade. In this paper, buckling behavior of a multiphase magneto-electro-elastic rectangular plate with simply supported boundary conditions is investigated, based on Reddy’s...
